Smoking During Pregnancy

Welcome to 2024!  Sorry about the delay putting an entry together but between being unwell A LOT and various other factors I just couldn't get around to putting something up!  Today I would like to mention one of my BIGGEST annoyances in life....SMOKING!  Especially smoking during pregnancy.  Whenever I walk past or I am around a smoker it nearly always gives me a headache from the nicotine in the cigarettes.  In this day and age, with all the knowledge about the illnesses that smoking can cause including cancer, I am always amazed at the amount of people that are addicted to this terrible blight.  If I could travel back in time I would absolutely kill the person that discovered tobacco.  Think of how many lives that would save including both my grandfathers that were smokers and died before I was born.  I do feel very much deprived of having a grandfather due to them both being smokers.  I will ALWAYS back a government that does EVERYTHING possible to stamp out this terrible thing.  If I were to be Prime Minister I would put a HUGE tax on any smoking related items to finally get rid of this industry.  Enough of a general rant about smoking and back to the topic that I am posting about smoking during pregnancy.  I, personally, do think that any woman that smokes is an ABSOLUTE idiot and a woman that smokes during pregnancy should be arrested and imprisoned for child abuse.  I say that because that woman is, basically, abusing the child that is growing inside her.  Exposing it to toxins that it should not be around even outside the womb.  There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for smoking during pregnancy as we know that smoking can cause the developing fetus to develop abnormally and even end with a possible miscarriage.  We need to teach children not to take up this terrible thing and make it as hard as possible for people to continue this habit.  Get in contact with your local politician and lets get rid of this blight on society.

Thanks for listening to my rant today I look forward to putting up something more cheerful in the near future!

New Years Eve & Jilly Cooper's New Years Honour List

Jilly Cooper

I am currently getting excited for what the New Year will bring.  I would like it to bring me a lot more success than what I've had this year.  I would like to gain some form of employment.  Any employers out there that are looking for a hard-working high-functioning autistic please feel free to drop me an This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the job specifications and I will seriously consider it.  I would prefer something where I could work from home at least part of the time.  I am a fully licensed driver and feel comfortable driving anywhere within the south including Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex during daylight hours as my night vision is not the best.  Unless I know an area very well and feel comfortable with the driving then I would have to consider it negatively.

Yesterday I learnt that an author that shares the same surname as my godmother and two of my first cousins and 2 second cousins is mentioned on the King's New Years Honours List.  Her name is Jilly Cooper.  Now I must admit that I've never actually read any of her books but it's still nice knowing that someone that I COULD be related to (however slim it might be - it's not zero but close enough) is on the list.  This is something that makes me smile a little and it's a good way to start 2024.

See you all in 2024!  Celebrate well and not to excess!

Updates & the sad passing of Ryan O'Neal

Ryan O'Neal

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve last updated my blog but between feeling unwell every few days and being busy with various activities I just haven’t gotten round to uploading anything.  Since my last blog entry the world seems to heading to hell in a hand basket as more and more conflicts seems to be breaking in various places including, most recently, the Gaza Strip in Israel where the terrorist organisation Hamas is trying to gain control again.  My thoughts goes out to all those affected by this terrible conflict especially the children and the families that have been displaced or kidnapped by Hamas.  May this conflict and all other conflicts throughout the world come to swift and peaceful resolution.  I REALLY do hate that there is violence in the world and wish with every fibre of my being that we could learn to get along together.

Today I learnt that one of my favourite actors sadly passed away, Ryan O’Neal who played the father, Max Keenan, in Bones.  He died the same day as another actor that I have enjoyed watching, René Auberjonois.  René played the character of Odo in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and passed away on this day in 2019.  I thought Ryan was one of the best actors in Bones.  My thoughts go out to all those that knew him including Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz who worked with Ryan on Bones.  I wish I could attend his funeral as it would be a really star-studded event as he worked on many productions.  May he and René rest in peace forever.

Sad passing of Paul Cattermole from S-Club 7

Today I learnt about the sad death of Paul Cattermole from one of my favourite bands, S-Club 7.  I have always enjoyed listening to him and the rest of S-Club doing their songs including S-Club Party (which I suspect might be performed at his funeral or one of their other songs).  My thoughts and condolences go out to all who knew and loved him including Hannah Spearritt and the other members of S-Club.  He is now partying in the afterlife (or heaven depending on your beliefs).  He will live on forever in the wonderful songs he performed in and the S-Club series that was produced.  RIP PAUL CATTERMOLE!!!

Jenna Fischer Birthday!!!

Happy birthday!  This is an actress that shares a birth year (1974) and birth place (Fort Wayne, IN) with my sister and first cousin.  Although my sister and first cousin were born in January of 1974.  So she has a special place in my heart.  Please have a drink on my sister and 1st cousin & enjoy your wonderful day!!

Anthony Head, Benedict Wong, French Stewart & Willie Garson's Birthdays!

Today I would like to wish these wonderful sci-fi actors a very Happy Birthday!  They have all starred in some wonderful series over the years that I have thoroughly enjoyed.  I would definitely enjoy meeting them and thanking them for all the wonderful work that they have done.  May they receive all the things they ever wanted on this special day.
FTR, I read today on this article and would like announce that David Tennant (Dr Who - amongst other wonderful roles) is coming to Comic Con in Basingstoke!  If I wasn't a High-Functioning Autistic then I would love to attend but I might see if someone that is going could get me some autographs!!!  If you are attending this wonderful event then please feel free to drop me an This email address is being protected from spambots. Matt King's Birthday!!!

Today is Matt King's 55th birthday.  Since we both share 2 initials (MK) & a surname I feel that we could be kindred spirits.  Therefore I would like to wish Matt a very special Happy Birthday!  May there many, many more!

8th January 2023
Welcome to 2023!!

I would like to welcome everyone to 2023!  I hope everyone has enjoyed the first eight days of the New Year!  Here's to the rest being better than the previous one.  I think this year should be the year that we welcome in a non-Conservative government with a General Election.  If there is an election then I might choose someone, anyone, so long as they aren't Conservative.  As for my plans for this year: the same as every year.  Be successful and earn an income somehow.  I wouldn't mind doing some work within the film/TV industry.  One of the things on my Bucket List (not that I am dying (as far I know)) is that I would like to get my name on the end credits of something, either an episode of something or a film.  I'm not picky although I can't get up early enough to be an extra but that still leaves plenty of areas that can allow me to, possibly, rub shoulders with the likes of Emma Watson and her ilk (I can be a fantasist at times but where would the human race be without people like me??).  If you're producing a film or episode of something and are looking to fill any positions (preferably where I can rub shoulders with some actors) then please drop me This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  That would help me knock something off my Bucket List.  Apart from that I can't really think of anything else that I would like to achieve this year!

Happy New Year!

27th December 2022
Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!  I hope everyone has had a peaceful and uneventful Christmas.  I personally received pretty much everything that I wanted plus a few extras that I wasn't expecting.  This will be my last blog entry of 2022 and I will be posting my first entry in early January.  One of my goals that I will, hopefully achieve in 2023 will be that I would like the opportunity to work within the film / TV industry as whatever allows me to come into contact with some major acting talent.  One of the things that is on my Bucket List is that I would like to see my name appear on the end credits of a film or episode of something although I am too lazy to get up early enough to be an extra but it would nice if, at some point, I could get a cameo or small part in something.  Right now this is the ONLY industry where I would be willing to do ALMOST anything including janatorial work that might help me achieve this goal.  If you are someone that works for a production company (especially Marvel Studios as I am a MAJOR fan of all things hero based and they one of biggest studios in the world now they also produce some excellent films & series) then please email me with any vacancies no matter what they are.  Thanks & see you in 2023!  May it be a lot more peaceful than 2022!

Ernie Hudson's Birthday

Today I learnt one of my favourite original Ghostbusters is celebrating his birthday today!  He is 77 today!  May he celebrate many, many more birthdays!  I would like to wish him, and everyone who is celebrating their birthdays today, "Happy Birthday!".  I hope they are enjoy their special day to it's fullest!  I would welcome the opportunity to help everyone celebrate their special day!  Have a virtual drink on me!  I could never afford to buy everyone who is celebrating a drink so it has to be virtual I'm afraid!

19th November 2022
Robert Beltran's Birthday

Today I discovered that one of my favourite actors from Star Trek: Voyager is celebrating his 69th birthday today.  When he was in Voyager I was very jealous that he got to work with the extremely talented and very sexy Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine).  I just wonder if he is celebrating with his fellow co-starts including Jeri, Robert Duncan McNeil (another Robert...I'll bet there might have been issues calling them to the set ("Robert to the Set!", "Which one do you want??  McNeil or Beltran????"), Kate Mulgrew, etc.  Robert, if you're ever in the Basingstoke (or even Hampshire) area then look me up!  I might buy you a drink to celebrate your birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  MAY THERE BE MANY MORE!

22nd October 2022
Christopher Lloyd's Birthday

Today I learnt that one of my favourite actors of ALL TIME, Christopher Lloyd, is celebrating his 84th birthday!  He is THE actor that I grew up watching in films like the Back to the Future series, Who Framed Roger Rabbit (he was brilliant in that!) and also in numerous Star Trek films and episodes of various ST genre.  I would like to wish him many happy returns and hope that he is around for many more years to come.  Chris, if you do manage to read this blog, have a virtual drink on me!!  Enjoy your day!

Resignation of Liz Truss as Prime Minister

Yesterday I learnt that it looks the UK to going to get YET ANOTHER Prime Minister in the space of one year.  This year seems to be a year of 2's, in so much as, we've had 2 monarchs (Queen Elizabeth II & King Charles III) and, now, 2 Prime Ministers (Boris Johnson & Liz Truss).  I found out that Liz Truss can leave the office of Prime Minister with one accolade under her belt.  That of the first Prime Minister to be in office the shortest.  Just 44 days!  I think that the UK should really have a general election as I think most people have lost interest in the Tory party as they couldn't organise a surprise party (I was going to put something else but I want this to be a blog that is available to everyone) if their lives depended on it.  I personally think that most politicians at the "upper" level (i.e. Parliamentary level) can be complete idiots that can't really do anything and this is one of the reasons that I've only ever voted once when I was 18 just so that I can stay that I did it.  I can't even remember who I voted for all those years ago.  What the UK needs is a leader that can think outside the box and come up with solutions to the myriad of issues facing the country including the Cost of Living Crisis and helping sort out Ukraine and Putin.  Hypothetically I would love to put my name forward to be Prime Minister but not as part of the Tory party.  One major thing that stops me doing that is that I am NOT a people person and to be Prime Minister you need to be able to handle people.  I've heard that Boris Johnson is, once again, going to put his name forward to be Prime Minister.  I do hope that he DOESN'T become Prime Minister as he's had his chance and shown how much of an idiot he really is.  He's, obviously, not learnt that he just does not have the skills to run the country.  If he does become Prime Minister then I fear that the UK might end up going through YEARS & YEARS of ongoing hardship as he would have no idea what he is doing.

19th October 2022
Hunter King's Birthday

Today I was doing an update of my celeb database where I go through all the people celebrating their birthdays on the IMDB database when I came to Hunter King.  She is the sister of an actress that I am a big fan of, Joey King.  I always appreciate anyone that shares the same surname as me as well as a few other names like Jordan (I was born in Jordan and have family in the States that have the surname Jordan) and Cooper (my godmother's family are Coopers).  I also envisioned playing a small joke on any women that have the surname King, like Hunter and Joey.  The joke is where I get a ring pull from a can of Coke (or any other drink) and put it in a ring box.  I, then, get down on one knee and ask that King to marry me stating that it would be a marriage of convenience, in so much as she wouldn't need to change her surname on official documents.  She would be, in this case as an example, Hunter King NEE King!!  Love would not, necessarily, be involved but if we do happen to be in love then all the better!   In summary, I would like to wish Hunter & anyone else who is celebrating their birthdays a VERY joyous and happy birthday!  May there be many, many more!

The sad & tragic passing of Robbie Coltrane on 14th October 2022

Yesterday I learnt about the sad passing of a "giant" (or should that be "half-giant") of the acting world, Robbie Coltrane.  I will always remember him for his role as Hagrid in the Harry Potter films which, IMHO, is his best role that he ever portrayed.  Although, having said that, I think he always put his heart and soul into every project he signed up to including his role in Cracker and Stormbreaker.  This is one person that I am sad that I will now no longer be able to meet.  I thoughts go out to all those people that actually got to, not only, meet but work with this great person including Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe & Rupert Grint.  Robbie definitely cast a spell over me and I will miss him greatly.  May Robbie Rest In Peace Forever!  I will think of him every time I watch any of the Harry Potter films.  He is now with the other cast members that died including Richard Griffiths & Alan Rickman.  I'll bet that they are up there having a laugh over Harry Potter every single day!

The sad & tragic passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II

Today at 18:30 I learnt of the sad & tragic passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II at Balmoral in Scotland.  Although I am not a Royalist I will admit that I did respect Her Royal Highness.  She is the second monarch to die in my lifetime.  The first was the King Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who become King the same year (1952 (FTR the year my mother was born)) as Queen Elizabeth become Queen of the UK and the second was Queen Elizabeth II herself.  The Queen was also born in the same year as my grandmother (1926).  Both were very good monarchs and represented their respective countries with dignity and honour.  It appears that 1952 was a big year in the world and for me as 2 monarchs ascended to their respective thrones and my mother was also born.  We have now entered the reign of King Charles III and I hope that he is every bit as good a monarch as his mother.  Due to the way he treated his late wife, Princess Diana, I am hesitant at his reign.  One thing I can guarantee is that his reign will be NO WHERE near as long as his mother as he is already 76 years old.  My estimate is that he might last 20, maybe 25, years at most.  This means that if I manage to live into my 90's I might end up seeing in yet another monarch but only time will tell.  My thoughts and condolences go out to all the Royal Family and all who knew and got to meet her during her lifetime.  This has been a monumental time in UK history as we have just had a new Prime Minister on Tuesday and now, today, Thursday 8th September 2022, the UK lost it's longest reigning monarch in UK history.  I wish I could have met Queen Elizabeth II but, unfortunately, I never did &, now, never will.

SCOTUS's decision to reverse Roe v Wade

I've learnt of the Supreme Court of the United States decision to reverse Roe v Wade which means that individual states will be able to decide whether they would like to ban abortions.  I think the Supreme Court is thinking only in the short term and it's an absolute travesty that it's happened.  I think that abortion is a woman's human right and that should be respected world-wide.  Right now this is making feel ashamed to be half-American.  If I could I would dis-avow my American side just because America is now longer a great country.  President Biden really needs to step and sort this mess out immediately.  Fortunately companies like Google & Microsoft have already made promises to help pay for any women that need to travel in order to get an abortion.  This makes me respect those companies above the Supreme Court.  The problem with the Supreme Court is that it's mostly made up of men that have no idea what it's like to be a woman (or young girl) that becomes pregnant and doesn't want to have the child for whatever reason.  They tend to be religious people that are following the tenants of the Pope.  IMHO, the Pope is firmly behind the times and has never moved forwards with the times.  This is one of the reasons why I have a strong dislike of religion in general.  I believe that religion is too easy to corrupt for someone's personal ends.  Take terrorism for example.  How many people people have committed horrid crimes because they were convinced that some higher power (let's for the time being call higher power "God" but you can substitute that for anything you like) has deemed it necessary.  Personally I think that any higher power would want us all to get along in peace and harmony.  This higher power would also feel comfortable with allow women that are not in the right position, for whatever reason, to end their pregnancies if they deem it necessary.  The time is right for any women with an ounce of common sense and more than one brain cell to stand up to the Supreme Court and should that they will not take this easily.  Show the idiots in the Supreme Court that they are the ones with no brain cells and that they, obviously, do not understand women in the slightest.  I'm going to leave this rant here as I could go on about this for so much longer.  I just hope that President Biden shows that he is a man of the people and reverses this decision quickly.  If he doesn't that I think he won't make it for another term in office.  I wish all right minded women luck in getting the decision that is right for them.

Raising Smoking Age & Neighbours Final Filming Day

Today I read this article and thought I would write about how I feel about this.  Personally I think the government should do MORE.  If I were in charge then I would raise the VAT rate on tobacco products to something like 40 or 50% and raise the age that people can buy any tobacco products to something like 50 or so.  These two combined things should bankrupt cigarette companies and prevent people from taking up the disgusting habit in the first place.  Since I lost both of my grandfathers to smoking related illnesses before I was born this has given me the attitude that I would LOVE to rid the world of tobacco.  If I had the ability I would go back in time and prevent tobacco from being discovered in the first place.  Think of all the lives that would be saved if I could do that!  Since I can't do that I am going to have to settle on just living in this world and hoping that ONE day smoking is totally outlawed in ALL countries of the world.  Maybe there might be one SMALL island somewhere where ALL the smokers in the world could smoke and pollute each other's lungs in peace.  I just don't want to be around smokers.  I, personally, tend to get headaches when I breathe in the smell of tobacco that lingers on smoker's clothes and breath.  This is another reason why I hate being around smokers.  They tend to be vary selfish people that don't consider the effect they have on others.  If you agree with me on what should be done to get rid of this disgusting habit then PLEASE contact your local MP and lets see if we can make the UK a little bit of a  better place to live by riding it of ALL tobacco products.
I also learnt that today was the last day of filming on the set of Neighbours in Australia since it was unable to find a new home when the contract with Channel 5 came to an end.  This is the end of a very long era as I grew up watching Neighbours when I was in primary school and secondary school.  For a long while I even had the hots for several of the actresses on the series including Brooke Satchwell, Kym Valentine & Kylie Minogue to name but a few.  I even got to see Kym Valentine in panto twice one year at the Reading Hexagon before it was demolished.  The second time I tried to hang around the stage door to see if I could acquire her autograph (and maybe a bit more - but that's just me daydreaming a bit!) but sadly I had to leave before she did.  This meant that I've never managed to get her autograph.  Sadly I went off of the series after Kym left for a spell and never quite got back into it.  So for me I'm not really going to miss the series as I have never really been a soap person.  Neighbours was the only soap that I was really into but even that was hit and miss.  May the series rest in soap heaven forever!  My thoughts go out to all who worked on the series over the years & I hope they find work in other productions.  I now this is the case already for a lot of the ex-cast members but I am more talking about the current cast.

Abortion Debate in the US

Over the last few weeks I've heard about the debate raging in the US over Roe V Wade about whether women should be allowed to have abortions.  PERSONALLY, I am a Pro-Lifer.  In other words, if I got a woman pregnant I would prefer it if she kept the child.  However, I respect a woman's right to decide for herself whether she is in the right position (mentally/financially/etc) to raise that child.  If she isn't then she should be able to have an abortion.  I can understand setting a time limit that if a woman asks for an abortion after that time then it's too late.  What the SCOTUS is not considering is the BIG picture if they decide to to ban abortions.  The big picture is what would happen to all the children that would be produced by not allowing women to get abortions.  The big picture is that most of the children will end up being raised by the State.  The State is already overburdened with some Social Workers having to oversee a lot of children.  This is already leading to a lot of children slipping through the cracks and ending up being abused and raped.  This is only going to get WORSE as more women end up giving up the children that would have been aborted.  Is this what the US government wants?  Do they want to be known as the Government that allowed children to be raped and abused because they didn't want to allow women to have the freedom to choose whether or not they have children?  I know that they might argue that we have birth control that is there to prevent pregnancy but that might not always be available especially if a women or teenager is raped.  In those situations, if no other, women (and teenagers) should be able to get an abortion.  I hope someone from the SCOTUS reads this entry and realises what an idiot they are by not considering the big picture.

Russia's Invasion of Ukraine

I have learnt of Putin's invasion of Ukraine & I feel I need to add my 2 cents worth. I, personally, feel that Vladamir Putin is being a massive idiot. He is just wishing to flex his political muscle. By invading Ukraine he is not winning himself ANY allies. My heart goes out to all the residents of that country. I have never been there but I think it's a wonderful area and has a wonderful population. I loathe and despise any form of bullying. Putin is the world's biggest bully at the moment and the sooner the Russian people vote him out of office the better in my humble opinion. Rather than putting restrictions on Putin, what I think Boris Johnson & Co should do is try and remove Putin from his seat of power. If I was the type to get involved in demonstrations I would have but I am, unfortunately, the type person that would like to work in the background. If you would like to help me achieve this then feel free to drop me an email.

Thanks for reading this and as I have said already, my heart goes out to all the residents of Ukraine. I am routing for you and hope you will win out against someone that had no right what-so-ever in invading your country. GO UKRAINE!!! LIVE LONG & PROSPER!!!

Ivan Reitman - Director of Ghostbusters & Ghostbusters II - RIP

Today I would usually have wished all couples, no matter their orientation, a Happy Valentine's Day but I woke this morning to find that one of my favourite directors has died. Ivan Reitman. He directed Ghostbusters & Ghostbusters II among many other great films. I grew up watching the classic film many times and enjoy the theme song by Ray Parker Junior. I was upset when I learnt of the death of Harold Ramis in 2014 and now to hear of Ivan's death which means that there is another ghost that I hope is not busted by anyone. I just learnt that Harold was actually born in the same year as my father - 1944 - which means that he had a special link to me. I would like to send my condolences to all that knew and loved Ivan including all the remaining cast & crew of all the Ghostbusters films and any more recent productions he was working on.
Getting back to more joyous details, I will end this entry of my blog by saying this - please enjoy all the special people in your life and tell them how you feel. I have missed out many times in my life saying this & I wouldn't want other to miss out like me.

Another Pet Peeve Of Mine

One of my biggest peeves in life is when a series that I am watching comes to an unexpected end. To date there are three series that are on my "Peeves" list and they are Quantum Leap, Scorpion and Private Eyes. Quantum Leap (with Scott Bakula and, the late, Dean Stockwell) came to an end in 1993 when the producers were told that there would be another season but the studio pulled the plug due to low ratings. This meant that the season 5 finale had to be reshot and they out some text on screen basically stating that Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) kept on leaping and hoping that his next leap would be the leap home. Apparently there was talk of a TV Movie or some sort of continuation so the producers wanted to leave the series open ended but that still left me feeling unfulfilled at end of season 5.
Scorpion was another of my favourite series as I thought that I was somewhat like (in intelligence if not in character) the main character, Walter O'Brien. FTR, this series was based on a real person and that was another reason that I liked this series. However this was another series that came to an unexpected end in 2018 when the studio pulled the plug. In the case of Scorpion, rather than put up some text on screen, the series was ended on a cliff-hanger. This is something that I absolutely hate. I remember when I would watch Star Trek: Voyager on TV (back before streaming!) and there was a season finale. I would race down to Blockbusters (remember them?!?) to rent the next season on VHS or DVD just because I couldn't wait until Sky (I think that is what I had at the time) showed the next episode. I did try emailing the real life Walter to see if he could organise, at least, one more episode so that I (and the other fans of Scorpion) could find out whether Team Scorpion or Team Centipede won the contract that featured in the Series Finale. I also would have liked to know who Walter ended up with, Paige or Florence. There were a lot of questions that were left unanswered. This is why I have opted to not watch this series again until these questions are answered.
Private Eyes (starring Jason Priestley & Cindy Sampson) was a brilliant series that I enjoyed watching. This was mainly due to Jordyn Negri (who has a name that sounds like the country where I was born - Jordan). I have just found out that she isn't actually blind which makes her performance even more breath-taking IMHO. I have been a Jason Priestley fan for many years ever since he starred in Beverley Hills 90210. This had a similar ending to Scorpion as the rug was pulled out from under the producers due to low viewer numbers. Just as Matt & Angie had a snog and declared their feelings for each other the end credits came up. I was expecting another season to answer the question of how they were going to handle their new relationship but that, obviously, is not going to happen. If it ever does then I would be the first person to celebrate. Rant is over for today. Thanks for reading and I look forward to posting more things on this blog. Please continue to bookmark to site and visit it as often as possible.

Today I am going to talk over what the government can do to help protect cyclist on UK roads. Personally, I think that the government should make cycling on UK roads the same as any other vehicle. As a car driver, if I want to use my car on any UK roads, I require a Driving License (i.e. I have passed a theory and practical driving test or be in the process of learning how to drive), car insurance, MOT & road tax. I think cyclists should be held to same standard as any other road user. They should be required to gain a cycling license, be able to insure their bicycle, make sure their bike is road-worthy and they should charged a small amount of road tax. They should also be made to wear appropriate safety gear such as a helmet & padding. When it is dark (which is quite early during winter) they should also be made to wear something that glows in the dark. This would be to help them be seen when they are cycling down streets which might not have any street lights. Bikes should also be fitted, by default, with lights (front (white) & rear (red)) that are the same brightness as the lights on a car. As a driver one of my biggest peeves, in regards to cyclists, is when all I see of them is a small dynamo light that flickers until my headlights come across them. In this era, that light could be mistaken for a mobile phone (or other device) flickering. Do not get me wrong, I am all for people trying to keep fit and do their bit for the environment by not using their cars but most cyclist are not thinking about their safety. How many are going to have to be injured (or worse, die) before the government does something to protect cyclists. I would never say that cycling should be restricted to adults only as it should be a part of every child's life to learn how to ride a bike. I think that is enough on my entry for today and I will be doing my best to submit another entry as soon as possible. See you then everyone and thanks for visiting my site!
